Eric Kuvykin on AI Adoption by Small Businesses: Useful Automation Beats Hype

Small businesses are adopting AI for marketing, writing, customer service, analytics and operations. Eric Kuvykin explains why practical workflow value matters more than hype.

AI adoption by small businesses is no longer a future topic. It is already showing up in marketing, search optimization, written communication, customer service, analytics, forecasting and software workflows.

The real issue is quality of use. A small business does not need AI because the market says AI is important. It needs AI when automation saves time, improves response quality, reduces missed follow-up, helps staff understand data or makes customer service more consistent.

Eric Kuvykin's view is practical: AI should support the business process, not distract from it. In merchant services and payment operations, that means AI can help review patterns, organize customer communication, flag risks, summarize support issues and improve workflow accountability. It should not replace human judgment where pricing, contracts, approvals or customer commitments require review.

For business owners, the first step is simple. Identify repetitive communication, messy customer follow-up, manual reporting and payment-support bottlenecks. Then test AI against those specific jobs.
